Gia Bugadze — Eternal Cycle, Piazza Batumi, 2010

Eternal Cycle is a monumental ceiling painting created by Gia Bugadze for Piazza Batumi in 2010. Executed in acrylic, the composition was conceived in close dialogue with the architecture, following the curves of the vaults and transforming the ceiling into a continuous pictorial space.

At the heart of the work are love and, above all, continuous renewal. The composition brings together the four elements — water, air, fire as passion, and earth as solidity and stability — merging with and complementing one another.

Human figures, fluid forms, and the movement of water and air create a dynamic, spiralling rhythm across the ceiling. Forms approach, merge, transform, and continue their movement, evoking an endless process of change and renewal.

The painting becomes a metaphor for the perpetual cycle of life — a space in which the elements, the human figure, love, and passion come together in an endless interplay of movement, transformation, and renewal.
